UniSea QA Control
The requirements for operational and maintenance regulations within the shipping industry are becoming ever more demanding. Good, safe operating routines, clearly designated areas of responsibility and teamwork result in high quality and security. UniSea’s QA document control ensures these benefits through the use of proprietary software developed in cooperation with the user.
UniSea QA Control (Quality Assurance):
This software contains databases which record documents and procedures and may be formatted to fit specific requirements as to form. The user may wish to establish certain report formats, which will be done in Notes formats. Rules for access and filing are established during the implementation process. Some of the advantages of an electronic QA system as opposed to paper formats are:
- Current documents can be received onboard or offshore immediately upon approval.
- Easy access to documents within the entire organization, all with full “search” functions.
- This will increase the use of the administration procedures.
- All documents will be automatically filed correctly (document safety).
- Easy access to all administration forms.
- Standardization of forms throughout the entire organization.
- Simple approval of procedures.
QA Control examples:

Follow-up
Reporting and follow-up can be done from all workstations (with the software installed), onshore or onboard the ship. The QA documents of the ship owner can be approved or actioned and updated in accordance with the ship owner’s documentation. The benefits will be shorter, simpler and more secure lines of command, with those involved continually updated with regard to news and upgrading. Through incorporated restriction, the ship owner can limit access rights for corrections and revisions.
Printing
Everyone attached to the system will have access to print out procedures and reports from their own desktop computers.
